The Gray Wolves are retirees from around Colorado Springs and the Pikes Peak area. We love to camp, May-September as we take advantage of the great weather and the beauty of nature both near us and far away. We choose a campground either in Colorado or a nearby state. While camping we enjoy each others’ company, stories, and activities, such as, swimming, hiking, biking, craft projects, eating, EATING, eating, viewing historical places and other points of interest. We usually camp during the week when the camping facilities are not heavily scheduled.
The second Wednesday of each month, October-April, we have a delicious luncheon at a different restaurant of various member’s choice. This is when we plan and update our activities for the coming year.
While camping we enjoy playing indoor games like many card games, train game, rubber band shoot-out, as well as outdoor games like bean bag baseball, bolo horseshoes, and miniature golf, just to name a few.
We also plan other activities which may take us to dinner theaters, sporting events, veteran’s facilities or trips to state attractions.
Near Christmas we enjoy a special party at a restaurant or gather at a member’s home where the officers plan the evening dinner and bring all the food. During the year we help in our community by reaching out to a needy family with gifts and money, or giving money and supplies to organizations like The Ronald McDonald House.
