Gypsies – Mixed Age

Gypsies Chapter Family Campers & Rvers, Westminster – Golden area, Colorado

We are a group of 7 members, mixed ages, with 1 young student who camp monthly (weekends) along the front range during the summer months.  Our camping ‘homes’ range from a van to 5th wheels to motorhomes.  All camping methods are welcome.   We camp from April through the first or second weekend of November.

Once a year, in late summer or early fall, we may have an extended trip.  To date, we’ve attended the Balloon fest in Albuquerque, done a road trip of National Parks from Utah through the Grand Canyon, ending with the train ride at Chama NM, Yellowstone, etc. We have teachers in our group so try to accommodate their schedules.

Our camping activities at regular summer camp-outs are determined by the host for that camp-out.  Some like to go Geo-caching, bike, hike, play lawn games, play cards, attend a movie on bad days, etc.  The host also determines the menu for potluck.  This can be anywhere from a regular potluck to a planned menu.  i.e. Mexican.

Beginning in early December, we have a Christmas dinner with a meeting if necessary at a restaurant.  We sometimes have a house party with dinner, (or snacks only), attend a dinner-play, do a day in Black Hawk, going up on the bus, or eat at a restaurant.

Welcome to any families or couples wishing to check us out.
