Hi-County Campers is a group of campers and their adult guests aged 55 or older. We have campouts once a month around the third week of the month. Our campouts are, normally, April through
Our favorite locations are normally within four hours of the Denver Metro area. We range from southern Wyoming to southern Colorado with a few trips over the divide or into Nebraska or Kansas.
We usually meet for dinner at a local restaurant or have a potluck dinner where we are camping. One morning we may have a potluck breakfast with each unit assigned something to bring to the meal. In the evenings we have been known to attend a musical show or play cards in one of units. Afternoon presents an opportunity to relax with an adult beverage and a few snacks. During the day we are free to explore the local attractions, take in the scenic areas or go hiking either in a group or on our own.
We prefer sites with full hookups but have been known to be at sites where we need to dry camp. We welcome all types of rigs or tent if you prefer.
Some of our outings have been to KOAs in Fort Collins
and Colorado City. Boyd Lake, James M Robb, and Cheyenne Mountain State Parks. In Estes we like Manor RV Park or Elk Meadows RV Park. In the Colorado Springs area, we have been to Mountain Dale and Garden of the Gods RV Resort. Parrish Ranch in Loveland is fun and Terry Bison Ranch just over the state line in Wyoming. We are open to new and different places. We have traveled as a group recently to the National Campvention and retiree rallies.
Feel free to join us and get acquainted.
