Sundowners – Mixed Age

Sundowner Chapter of FCRV

The Sundowner Chapter of FCRV is a Metro Denver based group of families with a passion for the outdoors and spending time with our camping families. It is a group of eleven member families whose roots go back 38 years with some original founding members still camping. We have many new members that have joined in the last few years so we have activities that are enjoyed by our pioneer members as well as our new families.  We camp every month from April thru October and when winter sets in we take the fun indoors with monthly outings, dinners and an elaborate holiday celebration. We are not just another camping club we are a year-round camping family where lifetime relationships are formed.

A few of the exciting activities we have done in the recent past are a train ride thru the Royal Gorge, a tour of the Budweiser Brewery near Ft Collins, fishing on the Arkansas River and Twin Lakes on Independence Pass. Our upcoming camping season will include a long weekend near Canon City where we participate in a cook out for the entire camp ground. We are all looking forward to a weekend at Cotopaxi and fishing in the beautiful Arkansas River Canyon after returning from the Black Hills of South Dakota and a trip to the Badlands.  We will all be spending a weekend in the fall near Estes Park when the Elk are in Rut and bugling for mates right in the campground.

Our chapter is very active in supporting FCRV attending Spring Fling, Statewide and National Campvention where the past two years we proudly supported our Teen Queen who was a member of the Sundowners. We welcome guests and love pets, children and grandchildren. We are currently seeking additional Member Families to join our active chapter so come and camp with us and become a part of our camping family.

Come camping with us!
